Stop fixing what was never broken

Nov 02, 2025

Read time: 2 minutes

For years, I kept trying to “fix” myself.

I thought I needed better habits. More discipline. A stricter routine.

Every time a system didn’t stick, I blamed myself.

I’d tweak my calendar, rearrange my routines, make another list I wouldn’t follow… and still end up exhausted, inconsistent, or distracted.

At some point, I convinced myself that I just wasn’t the kind of person who could stick with things—not routines, not habits, not the systems everyone else seemed to make work.

That maybe I didn’t want it badly enough. That I was the problem.

But I wasn’t.

And neither are you.

The truth is—you can’t thrive inside a life that doesn’t align with your values.

You can’t stay consistent with systems that were built around someone else’s priorities.

You can’t feel motivated to chase goals that don’t feel meaningful to you anymore.

And no amount of planning, optimizing, or pushing will make up for that kind of misalignment.

This is something I had to learn the hard way.

And guess what?

It wasn’t a breakdown or big dramatic shift that opened my eyes. It was just… tiredness. Quiet, nagging tiredness.

The kind that builds over time until it becomes the background noise of your entire life.

And one day I realized I wasn’t tired because I was doing too much. I was tired because I was doing too much of the wrong things, for the wrong reasons.

Maybe you’ve felt that too.

If that sounds familiar, I want you to hear this:

You’re not the problem. You’re not broken. You’re not inconsistent. You’re misaligned.

There’s a big difference between being stuck and being broken.

And trying to fix yourself inside the wrong framework will only deepen the feeling that something’s wrong with you.

But nothing’s wrong with you, my friend.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is stop trying to fix yourself… and start getting honest about what no longer fits.

Not because you failed.

Not because you’re giving up.

But because you’ve grown—and now it’s time to build something that reflects who you are in this season of your life, not who you thought you needed to be.

If any of this resonates, here are two steps you can take—one today, and one tomorrow:

Today:

Get honest about what no longer fits.

Pick one area of your life that feels heavy or forced—and ask yourself:

“What am I trying to make work that simply doesn’t anymore?”

Tomorrow:

Stop blaming yourself for not thriving in an environment that was never designed for you.

You’re not broken. You’re just ready for something more aligned.

See you next Sunday, my friend.
